Abstract
Absolute neutrino masses were determined from bursts of Z bosons in cosmic rays. The probability of Z production was determined as a function of the distance from earth. Collider experiments were used to derive the energy distribution of the produced protons in the lab system. The predicted spectrum of the Z-burst hypothesis was compared with the observed ultrahigh energy cosmic ray (UHECR) spectrum.
