Abstract

This paper presents the organization of an object based planning system for determining the preliminary costs, schedules and resources for precast concrete building structures. First, an overview of the Construction and Manufacturing Planning System (CMPS) is given. Then a discussion of the data structure and the use of dynamic linking of objects to achieve the goals of the structure are discussed. A discussion of the importance of dynamically linking objects for future Computer Integrated construction (CIC) efforts is presented.
