Abstract

A summary is presented of the development, properties, and processing of HSLA cast steels. A wide range of useful properties can be obtained for HSLA cast steels, in both thin and heavy section sizes, by careful control of chemical composition and heat treatment. Applications include structural nodes for offshore platforms, centrifugal cast pipe, and other diverse structural applications.
