Abstract

Research status of various nanostructures applied for new solar cell of enhancing conventional solar cells are introduced. The cell designs are categorized by the types of nanostructure, including quantum dots, quantum wires, quantum wells. The basic working principles, fabrication methods, existing problems and latest developments are described, followed by the introduction of futher research directions.
