Closed biopsy of bone has proven to be a useful and accurate method of establishing the diagnosis of certain primary and secondary bone tumors, infections, and metabolic disorders. The use of a Craig needle for biopsy has simplified this technique and has provided the orthopedic surgeon with an excellent diagnostic tool.
