Abstract

(Ba 1-xSr x)TiO 3 composites were prepared with MgO and other oxide additives and the dielectric and pyroelectric properties were studied. The composites were prepared with different weight ratios of BST and oxide material and sintered in a microwave furnace for rapid heating. Dielectric properties were studied in the range of 50 K to 300 K with different bias conditions. The low dielectric constant & losses and high tunability were observed with different oxide additives. Pyroelectric measurements were made under different poling conditions and electric field. An interesting behavior in structure-dielectric properties relationship was observed with the addition of oxides in BST powder. Tunable dielectric properties and figure of merit is also discussed.
