Abstract

In the past several years, the authors have explored the amorphous phase behavior and local molecular environment in various polymer mixtures using dielectric loss measurements. This paper focuses on two of the more recent studies. The first is an extension of its research on mixtures of poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) and various poly(ester-ether) segmented block copolymers (PEE). In addition to the amorphous phase behavior, of great interest here is the possibility of co-crystallization of the PBT and PEE hard segment (which are chemically identical) to give labile intermolecular crosslinks.
