Abstract
In this paper, we provide a critique of the diffusion theory of software innovations. Innovations and diffusions are generally considered benefical to organizations. However, many organizations overestimate such benefits because they don't account for diffusions or innovations which are often incompatible with orgnaizational structures and processes
