Abstract
Highlights A low-cost electrochemical sensor for real time monitoring of the effect of antibiotics on phenazine production in P. aeruginosa biofilms is developed. The gold nanocrystals improve the performance of LIG-based sensors. Two routes for functionalization of LIG with gold are studied which show different properties. The real time sensor data shows that pyocyanin promotes cell survival when exposed to antibiotics.
