Abstract
We consider the influence of correlations on pion double charge exchange (DCX) from the Ca isotopes at low energy. Our study includes shell-model correlations and various short-range correlations, including repulsive correlations and ρ{variant}-meson exchange between nucleon-nucleon (NN) and delta-nucleon (ΔN) pairs. Although the relative DCX cross sections vary by as much as a factor of two with and without dynamical short-range correlations, experiment cannot yet distinguish between the models.
