Abstract

Granular materials are investigated for their dynamics under the effect of humidity. Phase transitions in electrostatically driven conducting and dielectric particles are observed under the effect of the electric field. The gas phase precipitates to solid clusters with the decrease in external field. Humidity results in cluster coarsening of the conducting particles due to increased cohesion and dendritic clustering is observed at high humidity for the dielectric particles.
