Dyspnea

Abstract

Signs and symptoms of dyspnea are discussed with a case example. The differential diagnoses of dyspnea are organized by system, with examples including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease versus congestive heart failure, asthma, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and anemia. Multiple treatments of dyspnea are reviewed and combined with practical clinical advice.
