Abstract
Thrombi in ventricular assist device cannulae are not rare and can have serious consequences. Perioperative observations are the gold standard in confi rming or rejecting the presence of a thrombus in the cannula of a ventricular assist device. We report a case in which echocardiography and in particular 3D echocardiography were very helpful in this regard.
