ECONOMETRIC AND GAME-THEORETIC MODELS OF AIRLINE ROUTE COMPETITION IN A DEREGULATED ENVIRONMENT.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This analysis forecasts some of the effects of airline deregulation on the domestic route system. Both airline route characteristics and characteristics of individual airlines are considered. An econometric probit probability model was formulated to predict the profit-generating potential of airline routes. A game theory approach was used to model air carrier competition on routes.
