Abstract

In this paper, four new efficient anti-aliasing algorithms are presented. Instead of operating in the entire image, these algorithms find the edge maps by using morphological edge detectors and then apply averaging filters only on the regions as indicated by these edge maps. The algorithms show a significant reduction of the aliasing artifacts, commonly known as "jaggies".
