Abstract

This paper describes an effort to provide a balanced educational program for future 'Master Builders', and to prepare them to enter the industry as innovators and managers. In the field of building construction, individual project roles must be placed in the context of an overall project outlook. Individuals cannot operate alone, isolated from the risks and responsibilities of other project players. An appreciation for the contributions of all participants must be developed to establish working relationships and functional project teams. In response to these needs, a unique five-year curriculum that educates future AEC leaders with a strong technical background and a complete project perspective is presented.
