Abstract

Mold temperature is a highly influential and often overlooked factor in injection molding. This study examines how mechanical and physical properties are affected by different mold temperatures for different materials. An Impact Copolymer Polypropylene, 20% Mica filled Polypropylene/TPO blend, Nylon 66, and Polycarbonate were tested at five different mold temperatures. Mold temperature had the largest effect on PA66 and the least effect on PC.
