Abstract
Ultrasonic measurements have been performed on a single crystal of Sr2RuO4 across the superconducting transition temperature Tc (≈1.37 K). We observed discontinuous drop at Tc in a longitudinal elastic modulus C11, and estimated the strain dependence of Tc from the jump by using the Ehrenfest relation. We found that the uniaxial pressure dependence of Tc in Sr2RuO4 is negative and positive along the a- and c-axis, respectively, in contrast with the pressure dependence in the isostructural cuprate superconductor La2-xSrxCuO4.
