Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that analytical wave propagation procedures can be useful in ultrasonic signal interpretation analysis. This paper represents a first step in developing analytical procedures that will enable the user to evalute complex pulse-echo signals and reflection patterns from flaws and geometrical parts of odd shape. Techniques are also introduced that will assist in understanding the nondestructive testing aspects of composite materials. The usefulness of employing elastic wave computer codes in nondestructive testing analysis is discussed.
