Abstract

Electrical modeling in bioimpedance analysis is a critical tool to estimate the asymptotic values of impedance, and consequently to estimate body fluid redistribution. The simplest and most used models have an inherently different Argand plot when compared to experimental in vitro data obtained in tissue samples. To avoid this problem, models that use constant-phase angle elements need to be introduced. This paper analyzes the electrical models that can be used for such purposes, depending on the bioimpedance application targeted.
