Abstract
Microelectrode voltammetry of electroactive solutes and of redox polymer films is described in heptane and toluene solvents, using the supporting electrolytes dinonyi-naphthalenesulfonic acid/trioctylphosphine oxide and tetra-hexylammonium perchiorate, respectively. The Ag wire pseudoreference electrode potential In toluene is estimated as 0.29 V positive of the SSCE reference electrode potential In acetonitrile. Tetraphenyiporphyrins exhibit coalesced two electron oxidation waves In toluene. Lowered permeabilities and electron hopping rates in redox polymers in toluene are Interpreted In terms of a less Internally mobile polymer structure.
