Abstract
Methods used in teaching engineering design and entrepreneurship, and the inventing process to freshman baccalaureate engineering students' introductory engineering design course, ED&G 100, are discussed. An instructional module called design for manufacture, used in ED&G 100, for teaching the fundamentals of engineering design to students is also discussed. The engineering entrepreneurship classes are designed for the students to learn the basic principles of of business and engineering design. The freshman two-year engineering technology students completed a design project which includes engineering graphics and computer aided design (CAD) use for the generation of a set of working drawings for an accelerator pedal.
