Abstract

The relationship between structure, in this case structural dynamics of a protein framework, and catalysis will be reviewed with the enzyme, dihydrofolate reductase, serving as a paradigm. The extension to the role of dynamics in muitiprotein complexes will be bridged by the kinetic description of the assembly and movement of the T4 DNA replication complex The modular design of biological based catalysts will be treated in this context.
