Abstract

Particles of aluminum basic sulfate were synthesized from homogeneous solutions of aluminum acetate, sodium sulfate, urea, and the enzyme urease at room temperature. The urease was used to decompose the urea. The decomposition provided a controlled increase in the pH of the solution, from 5 to 9.
