Abstract
(Neuron 72, 545–558; November 17, 2011) We were made aware of duplication errors in Figures 2A, 2B, 3B, 3C, S2A, and S2B in our published article. We carefully investigated our data by comparing the display figures to our source data, and this brought to light a mislabeled western blot film for Figure 2 and inadvertent mistakes made during the construction of cropped versions of Figures 3 and S2. Additional details are below. In Figure 2, the GFP input blot for Figure 2B was mistakenly cropped from the GSK3 input blot from Figure 2A due to a labeling error (of a different exposure film from the GSK3 blot). The correct GFP-DISC1 input blots for Figure 2B were not initially identified since they were run on a different-sized gel. However, the GFP and GSK3 input blots were not used for quantification of the immunoprecipitation blot and were only used to display loading; therefore, these errors did not impact the data analysis. In Figure 3A, a cropped image file for GFP from Figure S2B was mistakenly used to generate the DISC1 shRNA+DISC1-A83V panel. In Figure 3B, a cropped image file for DISC1 shRNA+DISC1-L607F was erroneously used to generate the Control shRNA display panel. In Figure 3C, a cropped DISC1 shRNA+DISC1-L607F image file was incorrectly presented as DISC1 shRNA. In Figures S2A and S2B, we mixed up representative images for WT-DISC1 and DISC1-S704C between S2A and S2B. In addition, a related cropping error was made on the same images. Revised versions of Figures 2, 3, and S2 with correct display panels for each condition are included here. We determined that the errors occurred post-analysis, and as such, the conclusions of the paper have not been impacted. We sincerely apologize to the research community for these regrettable errors.
