Abstract

We have successfully prepared the Er3+doped Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.25PbTiO3(PMN-PT) transparent ceramic by a twoways sintering method. Through studying the green fluorescence originating from 2H11/2and 4S3/2under different electric field, we found that the prepared sample could be enhanced by electric field by 150%, this phenomenon is reversible so it could be used for photonics switching devices in further application. Moreover, the fluorescence intensity ratio of 2H11/2and 4S3/2was studied under different temperature. Unlike the usually exponential response, the FIR here shows a linear response to changing temperature. So an easier temperature measurement method was developed by using Er3+doped PMN-PT transparent ceramic as detector.
