Abstract
Although incomplete, assimilation has been extensive. Those from northern and western European nations are better assimilated than other nationality groups. The primacy of particular groups may be attributed to such social, economic and ecological variables as primacy on arrival, social distance, socioeconomic status, residential heterogeneity, population density, and population size.- John Sheail
