Abstract
The objective of this project is to evaluate the creation of three dimensional filler networks, through the use of injection molding, regrinding, and reprocessing the materials. The materials used in this experiment were Polystyrene, Polybutylene Terephthalate, and silica particles. The overall goal of this project was to verify the formation of the three dimensional filler networks. Through the use of SEM imaging, the creation of the filler networks was verified, as well as an evaluation of the mechanical properties of each blend compared to three different control groups. The three control groups were 100% Polystyrene, Polystyrene with Silica Particles and Polystyrene with Polybutylene Terephthalate.
