Abstract
Biocomposite materials are becoming more common in the plastics industry. The objective of this research was to test various pretreatment methods on hemp fibers to improve the mechanical and flow properties when blended with polypropylene. It was determined a good interface between the polymer and fiber was key to retaining mechanical properties and a silane coupling agent appeared to have the largest effect.
