Abstract
The non-torsionally generated unsteady hydrodynamic flow in a semi-infinite expanse of an electrically conducting rotating viscous fluid bounded by an infinite non-conducting porous disk is addressed. The significant effects of the external magnetic field, rotation, suction or blowing on the flow phenomena are determined. Many known results are shown to emerge as particular cases of the solution of the hydromagnetic problem.
