Abstract
This study was designed to examine changes over time in older cohorts’ preferences for pleasure travel. Cohorts rather than multiple age groups were employed in an effort to control for the confounding problem of age and historical or period effects. The results indicated that there were significant changes in the importance of travel preferences to cohorts in general and over time. Tourism suppliers and marketers must acknowledge the differences between cohorts and develop products and services that meet their needs.
