Abstract
Specific heat of Blue Molybdenum Oxide Bronze Tl0.3 MoO3 was measured from 80K to 200K. It was found that an excess specific heat spanned over a range from 164K to 184K with a peak at about 172K. The excess specific heat has been attributed to Peierls transition in the crystal and nearly symmetrical form of ΔCp - T curve explained as a result of inhomogeneous distribution of defect. The value of enthalpy change due to phase transition is about 46.71mJ/g. The corresponding entropy change ΔS is about 368.28×10-3mJ/g.K.
