Abstract
The energy levels of a Morse oscillator corresponding to the ground electronic state vibrations of H2 have been calculated using a basis set consisting of independently displaced harmonic oscillator functions. This class of basis sets provides a concise description of vibrational energy levels and wavefunctions.
