Abstract

Optical absorption and ESR spectra of metallic Na-doped (CH)x are reported. The results indicate chemical n-type doping with no free sodium metal in the film. Analysis of the data leads to estimates of the conductivity (σ ≃3×103 Ω-1 cm-1) and susceptibility (χp ≃1.6×10-6 emu/mol). The results imply that the metallic state in doped (CH)x is very similar for both p- and n-type dopant species.
