abstract = "The vibro-acoustic responses of two rectangular inhomogeneous honeycomb sandwich panels bolted together along a lap joint, and connected with straight and angled metal sleeve joints were measured and used to infer conductances, energies, transmission coefficients, and internal and coupling loss factors. These quantities were computed using data from experimental modal analysis of the panels, along with wavenumber transforms of the modal frequency response functions. Analysis of the data leads to the following observations for similar inhomogenous honeycomb sandwich panels bolted along a line joint: (1) conductances do not change significantly when a panel is bolted to another panel; (2) the transmission coefficients are quite different from those which may be estimated using the standard analytic approaches found in the literature; and (3) the transmission coefficients and coupling loss factors are much lower for a sleeve joint than for a lap joint, due in part to the high blocking masses in the sleeve joints.",
