Abstract

Exocyclic nitrones smoothly participate in intramolecular cycloaddition reactions to provide bridged bicycloalkanes. The application of this methodology in the first total synthesis of the antifertility agent (±)-7,12-secoishwaran-12-ol is also discussed.
