Abstract
We have investigated the effect of topically applied high molecular weight nerve growth factor (HMW‐NGF) and 7S nerve growth factor (7S NGF) on healing of full‐thickness skin wounds in the Syrian hamster. Our results indicate that HMW‐NGF and 7S NGF have no significant influence on the rate of wound contraction or on the time to complete healing in this animal model.
