N1 - Funding Information: APPROACHING the end of my term as editor of Journal of Gerontology: Psychological Sciences (JG: PS), I am filled with gratitude for all the help and support I have received over the past four years. My list of acknowledgments is long because it takes many people, mostly willing volunteers, to produce six issues of a scholarly journal each year. I am grateful for ever-present encouragement and support of my professional endeavors from Stephen Gerus; for trust invested in me by the GSA Publications Committee when I was appointed in Fall, 2007, and for their continuing attention to sustaining excellence across GSA’s journals; for the guidance provided by past GSA editors Tom Hess and Ken Ferraro as I transitioned into the editor role; for support and leadership from Judie Lieu and financial management by Chris Yoder at GSA headquarters; for excellent cheerful help with so many different large and small tasks from Editorial Assistant Heather Blasco; for careful attention to editorial details and production timeliness from Oxford Journals staff; for sound advice to me and thoughtful articulate decision letters to authors from Associate Editors Elizabeth A. Stine-Morrow and Rob West; for help with a diverse array of responsibilities from graduate assistants Nicole Sanford, Darrell Shomaker, Danielle Skurka, and Kelly Munly; for financial support from the Department of Human Development and administrative support from the Center for Gerontology at Virginia Tech; for the scholarship shared by the authors of the Volume 65 celebratory review articles and all contributors to the supplemental issue on cognition and health; for responses to GSA’s and my initiatives as well as extensive service in preparing peer reviews of submitted manuscripts by the editorial board members; for the generosity of a host of reviewers in offering helpful comments aimed at improving manuscripts, whether or not they were recommended for publication; and most of all, to talented authors who chose JG: PS as the outlet for their most innovative and scientifically compelling research reports.
