Abstract

Farmers and contractors in the United States currently claim assets of close to $2 trillion and employ over 8 million workers. The value of farm cash receipts exceeds $240 billion while the value of construction is well over a trillion dollars per year. The equipment currently consumes over 30 billion gal of fuel per year and uses more than 300 million gal per year of oils and greases (www.nass.usda.gov/census/and www.census.gov/mcd/).
