Abstract
Two-dimensional adaptive filters are useful in a wide variety of image and video processing applications. Several different two-dimensional structures and algorithms have been developed, the most recent of which is a fast 2-D FIR quasi-Newton adaptive filter. Quasi-Newton search algorithms can compensate for the eigenvalue disparity of the autocorrelation matrix in colored signal environments. Learning curves show dramatic improvement in the rate of convergence of 2-D adaptive filters with colored noise.
