Abstract

Field amputation is a procedure only rarely performed in the prehospital setting. In this chapter, we will discuss the indications for this dramatic procedure and the personnel who are most qualified to perform it. We also discuss the necessary equipment and other considerations for the provider faced with this prospect in the prehospital setting.
