Abstract
The linear electromagnetic scattering response of an electrically small particle made of an anisotropic dielectric material embedded in a uniaxial dielectric host medium is considered, consistently with the Rayleigh approximation. We conduct a comparative analysis of two different methods which were recently proposed to deal with this problem, and we show that they lead to identical results.
