Abstract

Different field studies were conducted for moderately curved steel I-girder bridges during construction, and the research is still in progress. Parameteric studies involving a structure focused on that structure to recreate the original erection sequence so that the cause of the misalignment problems could be established. A project is in progress and is utilizing field data in conjugation with extensive analytical studies to examine the effects of various fabrication and construction parameters on the level and distribution of stresses. This ongoing research aims at eradication of the difficulties and improvement in the results of the earlier results.
