Abstract
The future development of the CALPHAD method requires establishing file and data repositories and tools to automate the modeling process and to enable efficient implementation of new models and the development of multicomponent descriptions. To advance these new repositories and tools, unique phase and materials identifiers must be defined. These identifiers are crucial for the successful linkage between different data repositories and for efficient searching of the needed data for a given materials system.
