Abstract
A approach which exploits the approximate mass degeneracy of the light axial vector mesons was presented. Pole dominance was used to calculate the tensor charge. A relation between the nucleon axial vector coupling constant and the tensor charge was established. The calculations was performed at the scale μ≈1 GeV. The appropriate evolution to higher scales was determined by the anomalous dimensions of the tensor charge.
