abstract = "This paper presents Pilot Induced Oscillations (PIO) studies carried out with a remotely controlled sub-scale aircraft. Various existing PIO analysis criteria such as Bandwidth/Pitch Rate Overshoot, Neal-Smith and Smith-Geddes for Category 1 and Open Loop Onset Point (OLOP) criteria for Category 2 PIOs were applied to the test bed system and the theoretical results were compared with actual flight test results. Category 1 PIO experiments were carried out by injecting a time delay between the pilot command and the actuator response. Category 2 PIO experiments were carried out by rate limiting of the elevator actuators.",
