Abstract

Ventricular flow fields in artificial blood pumps (hearts) were studied using particle streak photography, pulsed ultra sound Doppler velocimetry and flush mounted hot film anemometry. Both Newtonian and non Newtonian blood analogue fluids were studied together with blood. A brief description is given of the methods and results.
