Abstract
A study is conducted to demonstrate development of an efficient process to generate the statistics of peak maximum amplitudes via random permutations of blades. It is demonstrated that a new integrally bladed rotor (IBR) can be simulated by randomly rearranging the blades on the rotor. The peak maximum amplitude for this rotor can be calculated via modified modal domain analysis (MMDA) in a computationally efficient manner without requiring any new finite-element (FE) sector analysis. It is also demonstrated that the probability distribution function of peak maximum amplitudes can be generated by repeating this process for a large number of random permutations.
