Abstract

176This chapter explores foreign policy discourses of the Russian Federation on the basis of the Conception of Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation, confirmed by Edict of the President of Russia on November 30, 2016. Approaches to international law are an integral part of this Conception - something not routinely seen in the foreign policy statements of other countries. The Conception itself is a distinctive feature of the Russian legal system: in 2016 a substantial document consisting of 108 articles and nearly 12, 000 words in English translation.
