Abstract
The interoperability issues between systems are studied based on Telecommunications Management Network (TMN) architecture model and the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) model because of their relevance to integrated telecommunications enterprises. A framework for comparing the two architectures is proposed. This framework identifies key characteristics of architectural models as well as areas where inter-model mappings may be required. TMN and CORBA models are examined in accordance with the reference model, component architecture, component interaction model and information model. Issues related to comparison points of the framework are addressed under the context of TMN/CORBA integration.
